This privacy policy governs the manner in which Lisa Spitz uses, maintains and discloses information collection from clients using Lisa Spitz Counselling. This privacy policy applies to the practice, website and services offered by Lisa Spitz, online, by telephone or within her private practice.

Handwritten notes pertaining to sessional content & personal details are kept separate in a locked cabinet.
Smart phone: My Smart phone is locked & is only accessible using a password. I store your contact number but I do not save any names to numbers.
Emails/Texts: Email addresses are stored in my email account. Text messages are not assigned names.
Website: No personal information is stored on my website other than to momentarily collect and send enquiries for initial contact purposes.
Third party websites. Clients may find contact on my website that links to the sites of other third parties. I do not control these sites and I am not responsible for how they collect, store and use information.

- Contract/Agreement form (client is issued with a copy at the commencement of counselling & a copy is held by the counsellor for reference).
- Privacy statement signed by client. (Client is issued with a copy at the commencement of counselling & a copy held by the counsellor for reference).
- Assessment form
- Contact card
- Client code
- Client sessional notes, kept for the number of years specified by insurer.
Additional Information:
- Supervision: I attend bi-monthly clinical supervision to ensure my practice remains safe & ethical. Session details & client codes may be shared with my Supervisor.
- Emergencies: If required by law or your health is in jeopardy I may inform the relevant authorities.
Erasing your Information:
Unless otherwise explained, I’ll hold your personal information based on the following criteria:
- For as long as I have reasonable business needs.
- For as long as I am providing counselling to you and then for as long as someone could bring a claim against me; and/ or
- Retention periods in line with legal and regulatory requirements or guidance.
Your Rights:
