I understand how daunting it can be when you think you would like to talk to someone. Seeking help outside of your family or friends might not feel natural; talking about yourself and thinking deeply about your feelings may seem difficult or self-indulgent. You might be finding life overwhelming at the moment and need a safe and non-judgemental space to work things through.
Counselling aims to help you come to terms with the past, understand how you act and feel in the present, and prepare you to make better choices in the future. To achieve this, we partake in an ongoing, weekly conversation in which trust is built which enables you to talk freely. We are then able to to link past events to current behaviours and discover recurring patterns in order to create a new healthier set of behaviours. While friends or family may bring expectations and self-interest, I am a neutral, external person for whom you are the only priority within our sessions.
